A trailer for Martin Scorsese’s upcoming documentary focused on the life of the ‘quiet Beatle’, George Harrison, entitled Living in the Material World. Being both a Beatles fan and a Scorsese fan, I’m interested to see how this one turns out, and learn a bit more about Harrison, who I regard as the most underrated member of the band. It is compiled of interviews and performances of both Beatles and Harrison’s solo efforts, as well as never-before-seen footage. The film will center around the life and career of the iconic musician, producer, philanthropist, and spiritualist. Check out the trailer below:

It looks to be a fitting tribute to the man, and has been a bit of a labour of love for Scorsese, who has been working on the film since 2007, as he worked closely with Harrison’s widow, Olivia. If you’ve seen any of Scorsese’s other music documentaries, such as Rolling Stones feature Shine a Light, then you’ll know what to expect, a complete VIP access to the life of one of the 20th Century’s greatest musicians.

The documentary shall air on HBO in two parts on October 5th and 6th.
