It’s been rumoured for a few years now, but now it seems that momentum is building for the fourth installment in Mike Myers’ Austin Powers franchise, as he seems to have closed a deal with New Line Cinema. Little is known about what the story might be, although Seth Green’s Scotty may well be the main villain this time around. Myers has reportedly already begun work on a script with regular collaborator Mike McCullers.

The last installment was a good nine years ago with Goldmember in 2002, but I’d be more than happy to see another installment having enjoyed all the last movies. And plus, Myers hasn’t headlined a movie that wasn’t about a green ogre since The Love Guru, which was received rather poorly.

I have hope for another Austin Powers movie, and I hope Jay Roach will return to the directors chair. Time will tell. Until then, keep it groovy.
