Now there has been quite a lot of news circulating the upcoming reboot of Superman, entitled Man of Steel, and due to me being busy I’ve gotten a bit lazy with the blogging and such. Sorry. But today we have some more, which gives the chance to update you on everything else that’s gone on with the movie. Now the film has changed it’s release date from Christmas 2012 to June 14th 2013, just so they can sort everything out. But that’s not stopping us from getting our first glimpse of Henry Cavill as Supes. Check it out here:

It’s certainly a lot darker, no bright blues, no bright red, no bright yellow, so it’s pretty clear that this take on the Superman legend will be much darker. I’m not too taken on the size of the emblem, the ‘S’ itself looks a bit too big, and it just looks slightly out-of-place slapped on his chest there. I may warm to it, but Cavill himself certainly fits the mantle of Superman. Although he could do with more of a quiff.

Cavill leads a cast which includes Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Julia Ormond, Russel Crowe and, the most recent addition, Laurence Fishburne as Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White. That piece of casting is certainly an unexpected one, but one which I think is a rather inspired choice. Zach Synder shall direct the movie, which kicks off filming in the Autumn.
