Casting has been moving quite nicely for the upcoming Zach Synder Superman reboot, and today we’ve got a big reveal in the form of Supes love interest, Lois Lane. And the role has been given to three time oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams. Here’s what Synder had to say on the choice of casting:

Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about. So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful.”

I think Adams is a great choice for the role. She’s incredibly versatile, proving her dramatic worth in the likes of The Fighter, yet also showing a bright and breezy comedic side in such films as Enchanted and Night at the Museum 2. She’ll prove to be a more than capable actress for the role of Lois Lane, hopefully bringing a fresh direction on the character.

Adams joins Henry Cavill as Superman, and also Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Johnathan and Martha Kent. The movie is set for a December 2012 release. Catch Synder’s latest movie Sucker Punch at cinemas from this Friday.
