A new black comedy, very much in the vein of Kick-Ass is on the horizon in the form of Super, which is garnering a fair bit of buzz following its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival at the end of last year. It follows Rainn Wilson as Frank, a fairly average bloke whose life falls apart when his wife (Liv Tyler) leaves him for a charismatic drug dealer (Kevin Bacon). Filled with anger and regret, Frank vows to see crime taken down in his city and takes up the persona of the Crimson Bolt, with his kid sidekick, Boltie (Ellen Page) by his side.

It does look very funny, with some cracking one liners in there, and that’s just the trailer. It has the problem of being labelled with just being another Kick-Ass but it may have enough to stand alone as its own movie. We won’t find out for a bit yet though, as it only has a release date for the U.S. at this current moment in time. Still, it looks alright!
