David Cameron may have just jizzed his pants with this new image of Meryl Streep playing Margaret (Maggie to friends) Thatcher in the upcoming bio-pic entitled, The Iron Lady.

Here’s the promotional blurb which accompanied the image on your right:

The film tells the compelling story of Margaret Thatcher, a woman who smashed through the barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male-dominated world. The story concerns power and the price that is paid for power, and is a surprising and intimate portrait of an extraordinary and complex woman.

And wadda you know, I’ve also got a quote from Streep herself for you, not that I got it directly from her. That would be cool. But here’s what the 16 time Oscar nominated actress had to say about her upcoming role:

“The prospect of exploring the swathe cut through history by this remarkable woman is a daunting and exciting challenge. I am trying to approach the role with as much zeal, fervour and attention to detail as the real Lady Thatcher possesses – I can only hope my stamina will begin to approach her own!”

She certainly looks the part with the make up job, and there’s no doubting her talent as an actress with taking on this role. Is there a 17th Oscar nomination on the horizon? We’ll find out when the movie hits cinemas at the end of the year.
