Morgan Spurlock, the filmmaker behind the documentaries Super Size Me and Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden is planning on premiering his latest documentary at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22nd, just as he did with his debut Super Size Me. This film will be called The Greatest Movie Ever Sold. 

Spurlock’s new documentary will examine the world of product placement in marketing and advertising. He goes about this by making a movie entirely financed on product placement, marketing and advertising. The official synopsis is as follows:

We live in an age where it’s tough even to walk down the street without someone trying to sell you something. It’s at the point where practically the entire American experience is brought to us by some corporation. Utilizing cutting-edge tools of comic exploration and total self-exploitation, Spurlock dissects the world of advertising and marketing by using his personal integrity as currency to sell out to the highest bidder.
 
A release date for the movie will more than likely follow soon after the debut at Sundance. I am very intrigued to see how Spurlock does with this, as Super Size Me was a very entertaining look at the fast food industry and this is a very interesting subject topic that I’m sure he’ll manage to get some good comedic moments out of it, along with having something interesting to say about the marketing industry and its effect on the movies.
