Along with this brand new poster for the upcoming Thor movie, we have a new trailer for the new comic-book adaptation.

The movie follows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) as he is banished from his fantastical home world of Asgard when his father (Anthony Hopkins) deems him far to arrogant. Thor finds himself on Earth where he begins to change his character whilst also finding what it means to be human, with the help of Natalie Portman. But he must soon take action as his evil brother Loki has dark plans for both the world’s of Asgard and Earth.

First impressions? Certainly looks grand enough with some impressive action sequences in there, but I’m finding on evidence from this trailer that the acting seems very, pardon the pun, hammy, especially from the likes of the very talented Anthony Hopkins. And the dialogue isn’t great, and this is coming from a director who is famed for adapting the words of Shakespeare for the screen, the director being Kenneth Branagh (Much Ado About Nothing, Hamlet). We’ll see what the final product is like when the film hits cinemas in the UK on April 29th, a couple of weeks earlier then the US, woo!
