A trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s upcoming sci-fi thriller Source Code hit the net this weekend and it looks very interesting.

The story follows Gyllenhaal as decorated Captain Colter Stevens who wakes up on a train as someone else. Before he can figure out what is going on, the train explodes. He then awakes to discover that he has been connected to this program called The Source Code, which enables him to cross into the body of another man in the last 8 minutes of their life. His mission is to find out who planted the bomb on the train to prevent future attacks.

It certainly looks twist filled and contains a very interesting concept, a sort of Groundhog Day meets The Matrix kinda thing going on, with an impressive cast. What interests me most of all about this film is that it is director Duncan Jones’ follow up feature to his outstanding sci-fi Moon, which came out last year, it was in my opinion last year’s most underrated film. I highly recommend it, and hopefully Source Code will see Jones’ get more widespread recognition for the very talented director that he is, considering this is only his second feature film.

Source Code hits cinemas on April 15th 2011.
