Oscar-nominated film editor Sally Menke, who worked on all of Quentin Tarantino’s movies, has been found dead at the age of 56. She went on a dog walk with a friend in Beachwood Canyon, her friend left her after an hour. When Menke failed to come home, her friends called the police. After searching around Griffin’s Park area for several hours, Menke’s body was found at the bottom of a ravine near 5600 block of Green Oak drive with her dog sat next to her body, still alive. It is still unclear as to the actual cause of death.

Menke grew up in New York City and attended NYU film programme at the Tisch School of Arts. Her first editing job was on the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, before meeting Quentin Tarantino in an interview about working on his first feature, Reservoir Dogs.  Since that day Menke had a close working relationship with Tarantino, working on every one of his film, recently receiving a Oscar-nomination for Inglorious Basterds.

Menke leaves behind her husband and two children.
