Lost hasn’t long been off the air, but producer and writer Damon Lindelof is diving straight back into work, firmly establishing himself as a productive screenwriter in Hollywood. Having contributed to the final draft of Jon Favreau’s Cowboys V.S. Aliens script with Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci, Lindelof has now been asked by 20th Century Fox to polish up the script for at least one of Ridley Scott’s planned Alien prequels.

The prequels will take place 30 years before the action of the first Alien movie and will reveal details on how that Space Jockey ended up on the planet in the first movie and reveal more on the origins of the xenomorphs. The involvement of Weyland-Yutani shall also be further developed.

Lindelof certainly is keeping himself busy with this and also helping work Stark Trek 2 in to shape (he was a producer on the first one). Ridley Scott has been so impressed with him that he has begun discussions about Lindelof writing an original Sci-Fi screenplay for him to develop. Lost may be over, but Lindelof’s career has only just begun.
